BABC Orange County, is so proud to welcome new corporate member, Mr. Roshan KC, a highly talented restaurateur, and innovative owner of a wonderfully authentic Indian Restaurant called Basanti, situated in rural San Juan Capistrano.
Originally from Katmandu, Roshan has always had a dream of opening his own restaurant in the US, to create an authentic traditional Indian Bistro dining experience, where guests can feel welcome and enjoy a wide selection of Indian delicacies, and delicious regional cuisine.
Roshan and his wife Shradha were both born and raised in Nepal but did not meet until after they both moved here to the US. They now live in Fullerton with their two young sons and have just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.
Roshan said he puts his heart and soul into the food he cooks for his guests. He can often be found running the kitchen and cooking with head chef Bobino Pires. Pires is originally from Bombay, now called Mumbai, and Roshan, or KC as he is also known by his friends and locals, is thankful to have found such a talented chef. Basanti also caters for corporate and private events where guests can see Pires and his team doing live cooking demonstrations.
The food is fantastic, and BABC OC members should head down to Basanti when you are next looking for a gourmet Indian Cuisine experience. Roshan and his friendly staff immediately make you feel at home and remember your names and faces forever. Beer lovers will also appreciate the local crew brew taps, and wine cellar selection. Namaste!
