BABC-OC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION

Executive Director

Orange County, California

Part-time, remote

Position Overview: The British American Business Council, Orange County (BABC-OC), a leading international business association, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director. This role is pivotal in driving the organization’s mission to foster transatlantic trade and economic growth between Orange County and the United Kingdom.

About Us: Founded in 1991, BABC-OC is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that provides a premier business and cultural forum for Southern California-based companies and individuals. We are part of the largest transatlantic business network, with 20 chapters across North America and the United Kingdom. Our mission is to broaden business efforts and strengthen relationships, both personally and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Vision: Serve as the face of BABC-OC, inspiring members, the board, and volunteers. Develop and execute strategies to grow membership and revenue, ensuring financial stability and community engagement.
  • Event Management: Oversee the planning and execution of high-caliber events, including signature gatherings like the traditional Christmas lunch and unique networking opportunities. Manage all aspects of event logistics, from contract negotiations to volunteer coordination. Expect 3-4 larger events and 8-10 smaller networking events per year.
  • Membership & Sponsorship: Foster relationships with corporations and individuals to drive membership growth. Administer the membership renewal program and secure sponsorships for events and programs.
  • Marketing & Communications: Raise the public profile of BABC-OC through effective marketing strategies. Maintain and update the website, social media, and communication materials.
  • Financial Management: Ensure sound financial management and accountability. Oversee financial transactions and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks.
  • Community Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the British Consul General, the Department for Business and Trade, and other BABC chapters.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for BABC-OC’s mission and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of event management experience with a proven track record in acquiring sponsorships.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
